3 Team Deal Picking Up Steam

Things definitely are moving forward on the Nets-Den-Det talks. Something could happen "within the next 48 hours."

One source said "tonight or tomorrow." Some things still need to be worked out, but it's picking up steam.

This is via Nets insider, Al Iannazzone.
Not sure how true that is, but if it is, should see something very soon.

Hopefully it consists of more than just Rip for Murphy. But if that's all, I'll still be happy.

@WojYahooNBA: DET has leverage here cuz Melo's agent is pushing Rip inclusion in bigger deal to NJ. DET may end up with a 1st out of deal

@timpchisholm And NJ could send them $3M to pay for one of Petro's remaining years.

@WojYahooNBA: Would Melo's agent work so hard to get Rip in deal, only have to client refuse $65M contract in NJ?

@chadfordinsider: If Melo deal goes down, it's a home run for Denver & saves Detroit some serious cash. But would NJ crack top 5 in East? I'm not so sure.

Rip (and likely someone like Summers) for huge expiring, partially payed of Petro, and a 1st.

Denver needs Detroit in 3-way for max savings, but have alternate deals in place with NJ. Obstacle left is NJ-DET working out Rip for Murphy

Why? Just trade them straight up lol. Or add Petro and a first to us. Everyone gets what they want.

Favors had his best game last night, but we never got him involved.

He would never flourish here under Avery's system.
