In an interview with ESPN’s Mike & Mike, Manfred discussed the option of limiting the amount of pitching changes a team can make in one game. He feels the increased use of bullpen arms delays the game, as well as takes away action fans want to see.

When asked about a possible limit on relief appearances, Manfred responded with “I am in favor of something like that. We (MLB) spend a ton of time on this issue in the last few months.”

Asked about Manfred's idea after the Yankees' 4-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday afternoon, Girardi resorted to sarcasm to shoot down the notion in a big way.

"We're gonna change the way we play the game and the way you try to win games?," Girardi asked. "I think that's completely too drastic. If you want to shorten the game, make it seven innings."

Yeah, can't say I'm a fan of this idea.

Even shifts are too drastic.

definitely not a fan of this move. the "relievers are too good argument" is just weird.

There is talk about forcing all relievers to face at least 2 hitters, ending the LOOGY role.

Would be a terrible change to make as it would take away a huge strategy in the game and take away some of  Joe Maddon's magic

yes by the coaching staff.
make it so catchers can only visit once an inning too and you'll see a speed up.

only reliever rule they should make is make relievers face a min of 3 hitters...

those are the only 2 changes you can make to speed up the game without changing the intrigity of the game
