So you cherry picked the best year that Garnett had for Boston? Got it

The only year they won it all where you said Allen was just as valuable lol

The amount of Celtics talk over the past few weeks is too damn high.

This is unacceptable.

I mean there is no argument you can make to say Ray was more important than KG
Someone could argue KG isn't normally deserving of getting his number retired (but again, it's different in boston) but there is no argument to say Ray was more important than KG
most if not all teams would retire KG's
Idk why people in this thread are acting surprised

Because those advanced statistics further my point lmao. That was Garnett's best year as a Celtic and then he dropped off after that. Ray was still right there with him and then he surpassed him. And if you look specifically at the Finals games, Ray had the overall better series. Celtics fans just salty because he left.

Smh if people really think Ray was more important than KG. You must have really not watched the Celtics if you think so. He was our vocal leader , our defensive anchor, the heart of the team etc.

I just think it's so funny that Boston is letting their hatred with the guy leaving completely influence them. Ray was just as big of a part of that championship as anyone else and they wouldn't have won it without him. Put up better regular statistics and his career statistics and advanced statistics back that up.

We wouldn't have won the 08 Finals without James Posey either. Doesn't mean all of a sudden he's better than Kevin Garnett.

I still love Ray. I'm a UConn guy, and I see him annually at the Jim Calhoun Golf Celebrity Classic where I've worked. I don't blame him one bit for leaving the Celtics for Miami. A friend of my father was with Ray golfing when he got the call from Lebron pitching him to Miami. I understand 100% why he left, and would have done the same if I were in his situation.

Doesn't mean he's better than KG

As in traditional statistics. And as I also stated previously, that was Garnett's best season (Allen being right there with him). He regressed after that and Allen was the better player. Do you not read?

17.4 // 3.7 // 3.1 in 35.9min is better than 18.8 // 9.2 // 3.4 in 32.8min??

Also per100 possession stats through their careers in Boston

Allen:
25.6 // 5.4 // 4.5
26.5 // 5.1 // 4.0
24.2 // 4.7 // 3.9
24.3 // 5.0 // 4.0
22.2 // 4.8 // 3.7

Garnett:
30.3 // 14.9 // 5.5
26.9 // 14.5 // 4.3
25.2 // 12.9 // 4.7
25.3 // 15.1 // 4.1
27.0 // 14.1 // 5.0
26.0 // 13.7 // 4.1

But yeah, clearly Allen was better that Garnett, who was the only one to regress from their '08 performance  :sas:

17.5 // 3.7 // 3.1
17.9 // 3.5 // 2.7
16.7 // 3.2 // 2.7
16.5 // 3.4 // 2.7
15.1 // 3.3 // 2.5

Garnett:
20.7 // 10.1 // 3.8
18.3 //  9.9  // 2.9
17.3 //  8.8  // 3.2
17.1 // 10.2 // 2.8
18.3 //  9.5  // 3.4
17.9 //  9.4  // 2.8

I don't see how you can make any argument that Allen was better
