Who do you think are the 5 most likely MVP candidates for this season? Will it be a sack master on defense? Will it be a RB who carries his team to the playoffs? Will it be your homer QB?

For me, the AFC West is extremely good on the defensive side of the ball - all except for the Chargers. They're talented on the edge, but have trouble containing the run up the middle.

I think this will affect Phillip Rivers - in a positive way. He's on my top 5 candidates, as he'll have to gun the Chargers back into games and should put up some good numbers. I'd be willing to bet he finishes with better numbers than Rodgers and Carr, as far as YPA/YPG/TDs, but Carr and Rodgers will do a better job managing their team and not throwing games away.

Defensive MVP candidates IMO are Khalil Mack, Aaron Donald and Von Miller. I could see any one of the 3 putting up career years, even for them, with the added talent to the front 7 for each of their respective teams. Likely not enough to push them into the top 2-3 MVP finalists in voting, but they'll probably get a lot of long thought when it comes down to voting.

RBs in this category IMO are of course Gurley, as well as Zeke and possibly even Fournette. They're all bell cows, and will likely put up big numbers and be main contributing factors to their teams' success this year.
