With Minnesota reportedly having decided to take Buddy over Murray if Dunn is gone, the possibility of Murray slipping to 6 becomes all that much more real. If he's our pick that changes the outlook of this franchise.

I'll give myself a pat on the back for taking Hield in the mock with the Wolves, then.

Also wanted to reiterate, smart teams draft the players they like best and figure the rest out later. 99.5% of these guys wont actually be good for 3-4 years, so why draft with your current roster in mind when history says your roster will be so different in 3-4 years.

Also, talking about "positions" again, I think smart teams think in terms of skill sets. Positions don't matter, except for when you give the program to the casual fan.

How I think Murray and Jrue would work: On defense, Jrue covers the better/faster backcourt player. On offense, they share the playmaking duties. Both can be very good on the ball and have to be respected off the ball. This should open up all kinds of space for AD. Once Murray hits his stride you're looking at an elite offense. Yes, defense will be an issue, but if you have a good defensive SF, then 2 of your 3 perimeter defenders will be really good. You can put Murray on the other teams worst perimeter guy. How many teams have a 1, 2, and 3 who can score efficently off the dribble? You can hide one average/bad defender. Two is an issue. Draft Murray and you must get a good to great defensive SF, Or hope Q-Pon comes back 100%.

I mean, he deserves credit for loading up on assets, but the big potential payoff from the process all comes down to the luck of the lotto balls.
