Yep.  The guys on MLB Tonight just said that Mookie is the league MVP, but JD is the Red Sox MVP.  If you think about it, it makes sense.  Mookie doesn't have the year he had without JD being in the lineup with him and the Sox don't get through the playoffs without both.  Mookie had the better numbers, though, so he gets the award.

Also, Rob Manfred had his contact extended another 5 years.  The game is in pretty good shape right now and h has done a good job, IMO.

He had a historic season. By WAR, one of the top 50 ever.

First player to also win the GG, WS, SS, MVP and Batting Title in the same year

Beltre retired. He will be in cooperstown for sure, but will he be a first ballot HOFer?

Yes he should. The idea of being first ballot being prestigious is so dumb. If you're good enough you should be in

The Cubs moved Tommy LaStella to the Angels for cash or the PTBNL.

Sounds like Eovaldi is about to get a four year deal with the Bosox.

$17MM/year?  Could be be their closer if Kimbrel decides to go elsewhere?

I think this is a foolish idea

Yankees, Mets, Marlins discussing 3-way trade for J.T. Realmuto

11:04pm: The Yankees are pushing hard to swing a deal with the Mets, and are interested in Mets pitchers other than only Syndergaard, according to Andy Martino (Twitter links).

10:02pm: The Mets, Yankees, and Marlins have discussed a three-team trade that would see J.T. Realmuto end up on the Mets roster, The Athletics Ken Rosenthal reports (Twitter links). Making the deal into a true blockbuster, Noah Syndergaard may also be part of the negotiations, according to both the New York Posts Mike Puma and SNY.tvs Andy Martino.

As per Martinos source, however, the Mets are also weighing 10 other scenarios and it doesnt seem like this trade or any other is necessarily close. A lot of smoke [but] not a lot of fire is how one person familiar with the talks describes things to Joel Sherman of the New York Post. It would seemingly take more than just Realmuto to pry Syndergaard away from the Mets, as Rosenthal notes that the right-hander has three years of control to Realmutos two, unless the Mets were also receiving more in the trade. The Mets and Yankees have touched base on Syndergaard in the past, though the star right-handers involvement would certainly make the Yankees much more than a simple conduit in such a trade.
Unless we're getting much more back, I don't want to do this if it means giving up Syndergaard.

Jays released Tulo. Jeez that's a lot of dead money. Kind of a shame how injuries fucked an otherwise great career.
