Toronto Star - Athletics owner Lew Wolff says that he'd like to move the team to San Jose.

The team, who has the second-lowest attendance in baseball this season, has dropped plans to move to Fremont, Calif.

The A's have been seeking a new stadium to help generate more revenue from suites, luxury seating, parking and concessions.

"We've explored the Bay Area for a long time now and I think our only real option is downtown San Jose," Wolff told the Toronto Star.

I like the idea. Especially because the stadium would be downtown.

This has been talked about for a while. I don't like San Jose at all, but Oakland's not what you call Hollywood either. lol

Which is closer to you, Oakland or San Jose? I don't even know where in California you live.

I don't live in California anymore, but my Dad lives in Sacramento. But they are almost exactly the same distance.

Would they change the name to the San Jose Athletics?
Or do they keep the Oakland tag lol.

That's pretty dumb IMO. Just sounds stupid. Like the Angeles.

San Jose Athletics sounds pretty stupid as well........

Too bad Oakland doesnt have enough fans who are willing to go to the ballpark consistently.

Yeah it is. They should just keep the name they have now. Like the Pistons, used to play in Detroit but changed locations to Auburn Hills. Still kept the Detroit name though.

I'd be fine with that as well. As long as Oakland is still in there.

its not like San Jose and Oakland are far apart, they'll be staying in the same area if they move

what's funny is the Raiders are considered the bottom of the barrel in the NFL for revenue strength, too.

let them move. let them change the name to Bay Area A's or San Jose A's, or even California A's.

My guess would be they keep the Oakland name.

I mean hell, the Dallas Cowboys play in Arlington now...about 20 miles from Dallas.

Yeah, it'd be weird if they had anything other than Oakland.
