Anyone watching it?  I kinda wish USA cared more about its team and the whole competition.  So much more to play for IMO.

I watched a bit of the Cuba/China game last night after work.  The Cubans looked sloppy in the field, but they are fast and can hit.

What is there to play for exactly?

Good luck to guys like Eric Gagne and Ryan Dempster who are trying to figure out if a return to the MLB is possible.

Gagne hasn't been in the league, in what 9 years?

Last night, the USA team lost to the Twins 3-2. Buxton made a really nice catch on a ball that McCutcheon hit to straightaway center. McCutcheon tipped his cap and Buxton returned the gesture.

I just think playing for a country and national pride is more worthwhile than playing for money.

USA walks off Columbia.  Well-pitched on both sides.  Adam Jones hit a soft single to left-center to drive in Ian Kinsler in the bottom of the 10th.

It never should have been that close, but I'll take it.

Yea but these are their careers. People are upset that players like Harper, Trout Syndergaard and Bryant aren't playing. I feel like they would consider it after landing that massive deal. Less to lose.

If you get hurt playing in an exhibition game you stand to lose a lot.

And let's not forget MLB teams set restrictions on their players who do participate. They have a lot of money invested in their players -- it's a risk to them.

Until that changes this will be an issue.

Regardless it's great to watch some competitive baseball again and root for the red, white, and blue.

Real glad we didn't lose to Colombia...that would have been embarrassing.

It's Jim Leyland bro, what did you expect. He didn't even pitch Andrew Miller in that Columbia game
