The point is, neither is absolute. You can't just point to defensive metrics and boom, he's a sub par defender. They aren't absolute like some stat-heads seem to think. Unfortunately, we live in an era where people seem to think they can get all the knowledge they need about a player from a few numbers.

Anyways, this is 5-2, can we move on
