I think you have to keep in mind that they are paying him for the next four years, and not just last year. He's a guy that should get better. I'd say 10M a year would be fair for how excellent of a defender he is. Plus, nearly 7 less pts per difference when he's on the court vs off. That speaks for itself.

My son is living out his dream from being homeless to making it to the NBA. Can be 10 and maybe 11 and 11 guy night out if he can cut down on the fouls.
