Now before everyone on here shouts 'ZOMG HOW ST00PID REVIS IZ SO MUCH BETTER' let's look at some stats.

Samuel - Two TD's against | 19 Receptions Allowed | 7.4 Yards Per Reception (Best in NFL) | Targeted 41 times | 7 INT.
Revis - Three TD's against | 22 Receptions Allowed | 16.8 Yards Per Reception | Targeted 55 times | 0 INT.

Revis also had a tad bit better help as far as pressure on the QB goes. Samuel allowed more than 50-yards less than Revis did post-catch, too. I'll say that, based on last season, Samuel is the top dog. Maybe the most underrated CB next to Terrence McGee in the entire NFL. When Revis did get beat, he got demolished for 16.8 yards per reception. Samuel also successfully defended 14 passes to Revis' nine.

Thoughts?

Revis is still the best corner. Played through injuries almost all year.

Is that the best reason argument you can pose?

What else needs to be said? He was hampered by injuries and as a result was unable to repeat his performance from the previous season?

So how is he better than Samuel? You've given an excuse, not a reason.

No validity for Revis from you. Good God, I knew that's what the first person would say. That's why I wrote the first sentence to begin with.

Because he's all around better at everything? Better cover corner, better tackler, etc...

His 2009-2010 season was one of the greatest seasons of any by a CB ever. And like I said, due to nagging injuries, he was unable to repeat his performance.

Arguing Revis/Asante isn't really worth an argument.

So that's the best you can offer? I'll retort when some brain power and research is used I suppose.

I don't need to do any research, I've watched both of them plenty of times to make a fair assessment

How's the weather up there on your high horse?

"If not for five games missed late last season, Asante Samuel would have knocked Darrelle Revis out of the No. 1 spot in Football Outsiders' Success Rate for Cornerbacks."

-Rotoworld.

See, I can use the injury excuse, too. It's not that hard.

He missed games, he didn't play through injuries.

Who the fuck doesn't play injured? Are you going to seriously say Samuel hasn't played through injuries? In fact, can you name one player in the NFL who hasn't?

Jesus Christ you fail.

Playing injured isn't a good enough excuse for me. If that's your argument what about Walter Payton? He played, successfully, through torn ribs. Jack Youngblood played with a fucking broken leg.

Not to mention the stats in the OP hurt Asante, not help.

Giving up the same amount of receptions/TDs in less games is not an accomplishment

That was 2009-2010, in reply to your post. Just saying :)
