Trade talks regarding Antonio Cromarite have heated up. After a lukewarm reception from the league, the Detroit Lions have gotten aggressive about acquiring the physically gifted, yet often disgruntled cornerback.
The exact package isn’t yet known, but I’m hearing that Cromartie could be dealt within the week and he’s likely headed to the Lions.
I seriously love Mayhew, he is already better than Millen and it's been 1 year.

We better not stop at trades, we should just go sign a bunch of people. This has me hyped for the season.

I heard that if Vanden Bosch doesn't come to Detroit, league sources will be "surprised."

I really hope we hold onto Peterson and Foote though, if we are going all out with guys like Cromartie and Vanden Bosch, getting rid of Peterson and Foote, guys who can step in and play well now, would be kind of stupid IMO.

I hope we go after one of the many RB's in the FA as well. Tomlinson, Westbrook, or Jones would be nice. I would say Sproles, but he would get killed even worst than those 3 because of his size. I don't think we should draft a RB yet, we need to worry about the lines and secondary first. Plus there really isn't any eye opening RB's in the draft this year to me.

Id rather go after LT, too. I mean Darren would be nice for the future, but I want a stronger line and a bigger back until then.

Right. I might actually go to a couple games if we have a nice solid offseason.

Haha well that would be nice too..

I'm hearing a 5th rounder and Mo Morris for Cromartie.
I hope they get it done soon.

It is now "highly unlikely" we trade for Cromartie. I hear it's cause we didn't want to trade Mo Morries.

FML so hard if so.

Building through free agency in the NFL is horrible.

Yea, the NFL draft is the best way to go to rebuild a team. Get a <Censored> load of picks and just draft for depth. The Dolphins rebuilt their team in a matter of like 2 years and now they have a very nice team. Well thats Bill Parcells for ya, he didnt want to go to Detroit, lol.

I read somewhere that after the Colts drafted Peyton, they spent like the next 6 out of 8 1st round picks on offensive players to build around him. I think the Lions should do the same with Stafford, maybe get a complimentary TE in the 2nd round for him. Idk what the offensive line situation is in Detroit but you can never go wrong with drafting a good T.

It's not great to do, but it can be done.

Drew Brees; Darren Sharper; Jeremy Shockey; Jabari Greer.

All brought in through free agency.

In other news, the Jets will reportedly release Thomas Jones on friday. Thats another aging RB that you can add to the list. The Chargers are definitely in need of a RB, but they will get one in the draft.

So thats LT, Westbrook, Lewis, and Jones all in need of a team.

I'm sure that three of them will find a place to call home.

New England may trade their second round pick for Greg Olsen. Why on earth would Chicago do that?

Really no idea. Olsen is a good receiving threat - but his blocking leaves A LOT to be desired.

John Clayton says we'll likely lead the race for Antrel Rolle..
