Xavier Rhodes is the best CB in football. Against Rhodes, Michael Thomas, Antonio Brown, and Mike Evans have been held under 100 yards combined, and as a whole, none of these receivers have reached 70 yards against the Vikings defense. Rhodes had shadowed all 3 for the majority of each game.

Let's call week 3 the week the league turned upside down. So many upsets. The NFL is only beaten in parity by the NHL.

Officiating is still affecting game quality--too many penalties being called. Let these guys play, for fuck's sake.

I love that defense is more prevalent in the NFL.

The Redskins looked fucking awesome.

I really only saw the last Lions drive. I don't like the rule, but also agree with the idea of not just awarding a team another play they wouldn't have had due to a review taking place.

Personally I think the Lions should have tried a sneak or a run with Zenner/Washington (was Washington active?) on the very first play. They had enough time to spike and try one or two more passes into the endzone.

If the NFL wants to fix that weird run-off rule, why not just blow running plays dead (as soon as the officials' hands single the next down, stop the clock) until the pile clears, then re-starting the clock? That way you prevent defenders from just lying on top off offensive players to keep the clock moving.

The Lions are really fucking good, but they don't show up right away in games. They won't have the offensive firepower to play catch up with everybody, and are cooked if they go down several touchdowns in Minneapolis next Sunday. Minnesota got torched by Anquan Boldin in both games last year, and no player on the Lions roster has that same knack that he had for getting open, aside from Golden Tate, and the fact the Lions had two guys who could do that at the end of games made a huge difference. Now teams can focus on only Tate in those situations. Having that second receiver with a knack for getting open, albeit at the tail end of his career, gave the Lions offense another advantage that they just don't have anymore.

there were four calls prior to that, maybe one on the falcons and one on us where i agreed. they were calling some tick tacky shit. that final call sucks. good review, just a bad run off call. bad for the whole game imo, not just this game/team
