Baron Davis To Sign With Knicks

Baron Davis has committed to sign with the New York Knicks, according to sources close to the situation.

The deal could be formally completed as soon as Sunday, sources said.

Davis cleared waivers Friday after he was released through the amnesty clause in the new labor agreement by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

i've heard they might be interested in Posey, as well.

I get the sense they're not too concerned with adding a big guy. They seem confident they can be good enough with a group of Jeffries, Harrelson, Balkman & Jerome Jordan as backup Cs and PFs

In fact I think right now our only backup to SF is Balkman, lmao.

Baron is better than Douglas is it makes sense. I think Baron playing with a little motivation is going to be an above average point guard.

He averaged 13 and 7 in 29 MPG in LA last season so it's not like he's a bad player, he just has a bad rep because of his contract.

Davis is still a good point guard, definitley an upgrade. Just gotta hope he doesn't go into chuck mode.

Thats what I told him. He said Fields went 2-12 last night had a horrible PER during the playoffs and has been nothing for the past 11 months.

baron will probably come in a play off the bench for a few games and then start, which is what should be done. he can be a good pickup if he stays healthy. hes going to get amare and tyson some nice oops. now if they go after anyone else it should be posey more-so than gilbert lol.

I think they're over the cap.

Apparently he's signing with their $2.5M Mini-MLE.

And since they're still interested in Posey & Nachbar, the most they can offer those guys is the $1.4M veteran minimum.
