Yes it was, this penalty isnt going to affect the program 4 years, it will have ramifications for 7-8 years down the road. This penalty is a bigger blow to the players and it extends too far to other programs of the school. Its worse than the death penalty.
Shouldn't have covered up a monster. They deserve this punishment, maybe even more.

The people who covered him up are all gone. Joepa is dead, the AD was fired, the president resigned, and Sandusky is in jail. Now youre just punishing the people who are left there who didnt do anything.

Feel bad for my friend who's walking on the football team there. He had offers elsewhere but nowhere as big as Penn State. Haven't talked to him yet, don't know what's he planning on doing.

Why would a walk on care? If anything, he now has a chance to play and maybe have an easier chance of earning a scholarship at a prestigious school.

He's already getting the majority of his tuition and stuff covered with academic scholarships, he doesn't need an athletic scholarship. Obviously he gets to play, but you still want to win and the talent around you will be sub-par and you have nothing to play for at the end of the year.

as a walk on he should be ecstatic.

Is the talent around him not going to be sub-par at the much lesser schools?

Which is why he went to Penn State...

And even with the same talent level, they're more prestigious and note worthy.

He doesn't care about that if he's going to be losing football games...

Will he not be losing at schools that apparently weren't as good as Penn State?

I'm not saying it's not a better situation than than his other options, still doesn't mean I can't feel bad for the kid for not being able to experience what he thought he was going to.

I didn't say anything about not feeling sorry for him but your theory was flawed.

I said it like 3 times lol. He was going to be losing at lesser schools anyway, might as well lose at Penn State if you're going to lose anywhere.

I never disagreed with that, doesn't mean that what happened doesn't still suck for him, which is what I said in the first place...

He's getting from what you said, mostly a free education at Penn State and gets to play football

And I also never said that what he has now is terrible, it's just not what he signed up for...
