The Mariners have a great following in Japan and have the ability to market their players well.  They might be able to pull this one off.

Something to think about is potentially bringing in Ichiro to serve in an ambassador role. I'm not sure he'll find another team to play with at his age, but he could be the perfect bridge between Ohtani and the M's.

Not really sure I would sign with the Yankees just yet, as they don't have a manager in place and no one can be sure how Ohtani would fit in with whomever they chose.

All this talk about him looking to maximize his market for endorsements to make up for lost salary, and he's apparently telling people he wants a small market

Well Red Sox are out too. Guess he's not making up for the years lost of Babe Ruth.

Athletics would have been classic but someone probably told him they basically play in a sewer

Can't count out the Rays. Ohtani is a known dome aficionado.

I don't think this guy is going to be that good of a hitter in the majors. I think he'll obviously be a good hitter comparatively to other pitchers, but probably wouldn't be worth burning a DH spot on anyway. NL is the way to go for him

All of this In/Out stuff has been wildly entertaining.

And there's been no mention that the Tigers are out and I'm starting to (incorrectly) think we've got a shot. This is bad.

This is going to become a Cleveland/Detroit battle. He is looking for the most depressing city imaginable
