The defense rested its case yesterday and closing arguments were made this morning. Now, the jury will begin deliberating whether former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky is guilty of 48 counts — three more were dropped this morning — related to child-sex abuse.

Now, another allegation has been made public, this time by Sandusky’s own adopted son, Matt Sandusky.

Through his attorney, Andrew Shubin, Matt claims he too was a victim of his adopted father’s sexual abuse. Now 33, Matt told the Patriot-News that he met with prosecutors this week to say he was willing to testify against his adoptive father, of whom he denied any previous abuse.

“This has been an extremely painful experience for Matt and he has asked us to convey his request that the media respect his privacy. There will be no further comment,” Shubin said in a statement.

Matt did not testify during Sandusky’s trial, though alleged Victim 4 told jurors during his testimony that Matt Sandusky was present when Jerry Sandusky began touching him during a shower. He went on to say Matt left when the alleged assault began.

One of Sandusky’s attorneys, Karl Rominger, told reporters “there [are] a lot of questions” regarding Matt’s new allegation, but would not comment further citing a gag order.
