I often see people ranking Matt Ryan above Tony Romo in QB rankings, which is shocking to me. I want to say Ryan is even ranked ahead of Romo in NFLN Top 100 players. With that said, who is better and who would you want leading your team this year?

64.1% complete, 16,650 yards, 118 touchdowns, 62 interceptions, 95.5 QB rating

60.8% complete, 10,061 yards, 66 touchdowns, 34 interceptions, 86.9 QB rating

As of now, Ryan > Romo.

If your looking at Career stats.. then its easy to say Romo is better.. because hes been starting longer.

I would have posted last years numbers but Romo obviously didn't really have numbers for last year.

Romo has been starting like 3 years more than Ryan has

I would take Ryan over Romo any day

Look the Cowboys did better with Kitna than Romo last year

Because of HC change.. Wade Phillips was turrible.

Matt Ryan easy

Your hate for NFC South teams blinds your judgment far too much

This.

Jason Garrett came in and really sparked that team, especially the offense. Wade Phillips is one hell of a DC -- but he's not a good head coach by any stretch of imagination.

I think the stats posted are kind of unfair. Obviously Romo has been around in the league longer, and that is going to skew the perception that he is heads and tails better than Ryan. I like Matt Ryan more. Especially if I am building a team around a gun-slinger, and I had to pick between the two, Ryan gets my vote.

On a Saints message board
1- That looks nothing like the Saints message board, grey and red? Really???
2- I could argue if that were the Saints message board that Ryan would have more votes, Saints fans HATE the Cowboys and Romo.

You do know there are more Cowboy fans on FF than any other fanbase right?

Read the thread and all I saw was a few Cowboys fans that think Matt Ryan won't get any better

what hype? dude is a good QB
Yes he is, but he isn't the QB people make him out to be. Infact, if we're talking future I take Ryan over Romo no questions asked.

He only completed 62.5% of his passes last year, which is about average.

Only 6.5 yards per pass, which is well below average. He only threw 32 passes over 20 yards last year, which is horrendous (31st in the NFL, and by far the worst of starting QB's).

He will make a long throw every once and a while, but he really does not have that in his game. Most of his passes are on 5-10 yard outs (which is a hard throw) and stops. He had 14 passes of 25> yards in 16 games, Romo had 12 in 6 games. Even Jimmy Clausen had 11.

I've been the one to say all year that Matt Ryan is overrated.

Hes better and younger and has more upside than Romo however.
