We won't see another Triple Crown winner in 2016 but this race is now must-watch.
We've seen a pretty amazing rivalry play out between Derby winner, Nyquist and Preakness winner, Exaggerator. Nyquist isn't yet confirmed but I can't imagine the race without him. The Preakness was Nyquist's 1st career loss but there's concern his Preakness run was doomed due to fatigue. Exaggerator's trainer says they scaled back his training in the week's prior to the Preakness, thus allowing him to run stronger. Cherry Wine is also expected to be run the Belmont. Cherry Wine came into the Preakness a heavy underdog and make a late run to edge Nyquist for 2nd place. But we should also consider there will be a number of fresh, up and coming colts entering this race.
The Belmont takes place at a mile & a half dirt track; the largest in North America.
