We will be starting our 5th annual SI player rankings.  Last year we only go to the SF position, but I'm quite determined to get the rankings completely finished this year.

Don't be afraid to share your opinion, whether it's a popular one or not.  We will once again be going 10 spots deep at all 5 positions.

Please remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer.  Most of the polls will be open 24 hours, but if the first place vote getter gets 5 or more votes than the second vote getter than I will close the thread if I'm around. Nola and I will be guys running the polls in order to try to get this done this time around.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.  Who would you take today?

If ya'll had to win one game, you wouldn't take Dirk?

One of the best shooters in the league still. Certainly one of, if not the best at his position.

Dirk is still pretty great, but he's old, and his defense, which has always been pretty poor, isn't going to get any better.

I could see this one going to ZBo, Favors or Dirk, and I don't think there's a wrong answer.  I guess it just depends on what you value more in a player.

I think I'm leaning towards Favors.

IDK. If I'm going to build a team with the remaining players left to win a game, it would be hard for me to not take Dirk.
Does that make him the best player left, idk.

Wait, are you arguing in favor of Dirk or against him?

For him. Like given him body of work, and how dependable I know he is, if I were going to build a team for let's say a 7 game series, I'm going to take Dirk. Because he's Dirk, he's clutch, consistent, and still an good scorer.

But IDK if he is the most talented player left. Like Favors is probably more talented, but I still would take Dirk over him in a heartbeat, age aside.

Dirk is still an alright player but I don't think he's better than Draymond.  Maybe he can outscore him, but it's not enough to make up for the complete lack of defense and other things Dirk can't do.  I mean you have Dirk and you can pretty much guarantee you will struggle defensively because they will just PnR him all game.

^ I would say Dirk is as reliable of a defender as Dray is a shooter

Cavs literally didn't defend him at times when he was near the 3pt line during the Finals

It had more to do with not wanting to let Curry or Klay get going. They were doing it to everyone who wasn't those two.

He still isn't that good of a scorer though.
