Not sure exactly who has heard anything about the UFL since their debut...but this league will be extremely lucky to see 2 more seasons, if that. Just read today, the Florida Tuskers are no more. The entire roster & coaching staff will move to Virginia and fill in vacancies of the expansion "Destroyers". Players are still said to be owed outstanding gamechecks...and as this Florida situation tells, the league is having a hard-time expanding, given what they currently have in place can't stay afloat. I haven't watched more than 5 minutes of a UFL game since the first ever UFL game....but I do catch a minute or so of it on HDNet. NOBODY in the stands...can't imagine their making any money.

Remember all the optimism surrounding the UFL a couple years ago? Remember all those fans who said they'd watch it? LOL....UFL FAIL.

It's sad actually -- it was a place for young guys to go and get some experience. Hockey has it, Baseball has it, Basketball has it -- It's a God damn shame football doesn't.

Allow me to correct myself: This league will be lucky to see another season.

Was reading today that Mark Cuban filed a lawsuit against UFL Ownership. Cuban loaned the league $5 million that was not repaid by a December 1st deadline. So with that, the UFL stands to be out that $5 million, if they have it, and potentially their spot on Cuban's HDNet.

Despite the fact that the UFL had the most corporate backing, the best business plan, network tv deals, and plenty of former-NFL star/HOF'er support...it is about to fail. This should be a message to the All American Football League and New USFL, that are both tentatively planning on beginning their seasons in 2012-2013.

Was this not the league where players had no choice of which teams to be on but where they attended college?

I think another pro football league would be possible but it would take pulling a USFL, and stealing away top picks. Not going with what doesn't cut it in the NFL. I mean the USFL had Herschel Walker, Steve Young. I mean highlighting the league with Dominic Rhodes and Daunte Culpepper its not going to go anywhere.

You just contradicted your own point. The USFL did pour all the money in the world and stole top tier college talent away......but look how that worked out for them.

And this was long before the NFL became the mega-league that it is today.

they had a good business plan until owners started going around the rules for the salaries. And then at that I still don't think it falls under until Donald Trump became hellbent on making the NFL bring a few teams into the NFL and the lawsuit against the NFL. I think the judge's penalty was an absolute joke after they were found guilty.
