The new lottery system was a huge failure.

I'm interested to see how they handle it. I said it the other day, but they finally have their shit together.

I'm excited to see what they do from here on out.

I've got about five weeks to talk myself into thinking Coby White might someday develop into a competent NBA point guard

Don't be so hard on yourself Jakebro. Lauri would arguably be a top 3 pick in a redraft. Anything's possible.

Moved to the appropriate thread.

I think Barrett's narrative right now will keep him in the Top 3. This year's Duke team, and specifically their lack of spacing, had a huge impact on how effective Barrett was. I think he'll look much better in an NBA offense. Plus, there aren't three prospects behind him that could drop him into the Top 5.

I think he will go top 5, but wouldnt be the least bit shocked to see someone else go 3rd.

Thanks for moving to this thread too, forgot it existed lol

Supposedly the Morant-Barrett 2-3 after Zion isnt as clear as we think it is. Fans like those guys more than teams do.

Teams seem to really like Culver.

Could all be misdirection of course.

I don't think Ja would've shut it down and gotten surgery if he wasn't feeling pretty assured of going where he wants to go.

This is from a scout whos team has a lottery pick and likes Culver much more than Barrett:

On offense, I've gotta use RJ as my primary ball handler. Otherwise, how is he a threat? Nobody is scared of him off ball. On D, his awareness and effort is poor and his footwork is terrible.

Meanwhile, w Culver, I like his chances to develop into an off ball threat. He is a good secondary attacker and would be fine with that role. He could be primary for spurts too and can play mid or low post on switches. And his D is MUCH better.

RJ might produce better stats, but only on bad teams and we dont plan to be that for long. To us, there isn't a ton of value in an inefficent high usage guy on a bad team who would not contribute much to winning when we are good and he doesnt have the ball all the time."
