The five-year deal allows FOX Sports to broadcast 11 games between weeks 4 and 15 (excluding Thanksgiving night). It will be simultaneously broadcast via NFL Network and will be distributed in Spanish on FOX Deportes.

And people think the NFL is suffering.

So does this mean Thursday night football is guaranteed to last at least five more years?

That's a shame...

Anytime I see something break I try to get it up asap thinking "shit, can't have a double post" and it backfires 100% of the time. Haha.

Those are also some wild numbers. A night that nobody wants to watch football keeps going up in price. Baffling.

I think the numbers are wrong.  660 million for 16 games is 41.25 million per game, right?

I think it's still somehow the most watched show on Thursday nights.  Evidently, that's worth a shitload of money.

Oh I definitely believe that. I just can't see how the ratings equate to that amount. Maybe they think they can promote & produce it better?

They'll have to do one hell of a job, because TNF almost always fucking sucks.

There's really no build up to it. I feel like Thursday just creeps up on you and I'm like "oh shit, there's a game on right now".

Sunday games you have pre-game content all morning, you have radio and podcasts making their picks on Friday, etc.
