NFL fines Broncos' Von Miller fined for pelvic thrusting
The NFL was no fan of Von Miller's provocative celebration.
Miller was fined $11,567 for his pelvic-thrust sack dance during last week's win over the Lions, according to Mike Klis of 9News. He did it after sacking Detroit QB Matthew Stafford, though a flag nullified the play. It was the second time we've seen the pass-rusher break out these moves — he also did it against the Chiefs — and apparently the league's had enough.
His moves are an apparent tribute to a hilarious routine in the Comedy Central show "Key & Peele" featuring a player named Hingle McCringleberry. In that skit, McCringleberry draws a flag because he does three pumps, and the rules allow no more than two. For what it's worth, Miller stopped at two (impressive self-control).
It's hard not to laugh when watching that clip, but it's easy to see why the NFL doesn't want Miller thrusting on national television.
Miller drew a roughing the passer penalty in that win, but it did not bring a fine.
It was bound to happen lol. Last year it was the Rick Rude celebration.
