Sources: Shohei Ohtani has chosen CAA to represent him in the United States. Nez Balelo will be the lead agent.

Next stop: The Bronx

Not sure he'll go to the Yankees, but I would think he would sign with an AL team to both pitch and hit.  I could see him getting 30 starts and 250 ABs as a DH.
Not sure what the posting fee will be.  Up until this year, it was $25MM (I believe) but now it has dropped, especially given his age.  I believe he is subject to the international signing pool.

Yankees dont have an official DH so it makes sense if they want to let him hit

Problem is there's no guarantee he will be posted. His team wants him grandfathered in under the old agreement, MLBPA doesn't.

"But MLB cannot enter into any transfer agreement with any country Japan, Korea, Cuba, Mexico, etc. without approval from the MLB Players Association, as stated in the CBA. And the union, to date, has refused to make an exception for Otani, concerned about the precedent and fairness of the player receiving, say, $300,000 and his former team $20 million."

This situation will be quite interesting to watch.  CAA has said that it will be "fun" negotiating the contract.

He'll be posted. MLB and the MLBPA see the dollar signs associated with Ohtani signing with a club in the US.

Has there been any other pitchers that could also DH in the past?

Not counting Babe Ruth, they didn't have DH then anyway.

Didn't know about this guy at all.

Well from what I've read the mlbpa doesn't see the dollar signs. They see a player making a max of $3.5M while his Japanese team gets $20M.
