He was going to leave last season but was persuaded to stay for one more. Also learned that he played this last year on cadaver tendons after blowing his out. What a warrior, what a magician, what a guy. It was a treat to be able to watch Datsyuk representing the Wings for so long

Is he going to play in the KHL? If he does that sucks for the Wings, they still have the cap hit next year

Sounds like he wants to spend time with his family, heal his body a bit. Good decision for him, tough break for the Wings though. Not only losing one of their best players, but now out $7.5 million on next years cap. Maybe some sap of a team will trade for him to reach the floor.

As much as I hate the Red Wings because of jealousy I'm pretty happy I got to watch him and Lidstrom play.
