Predict who the 5 top candidates for Cy Young will be in each league.

AL:
1. Felix Hernandez
2. C.C. Sabathia
3. Zach Greinke
4. Cliff Lee
5. Scott Baker

NL:
1. Josh Johnson
2. Tim Lincecum
3. Roy Halladay
4. Johan Santana
5. Clayton Kershaw

Josh Johnson is my pick to be the big surprise this season.

I just don't feel confident that Carpenter will have as good a season as he did last year. He's so injury prone, I feel like last season was one of those rare seasons. While I still believe he deserved to win the Cy Young last season, I just don't envision him repeating that performance this season. As for Wainwright and Cain, their right up there amongst those 5. However, since I feel that Johnson is going to shock everyone with a phenomenal season and since this is a league filled with Lincecum, Halladay and Santana, it's hard to fit Cain and Wainwright in there as well. I just feel like Kershaw is going to have a very good year.

Despite his 8-8 record last year, his ERA under 3 and his league-leading 6.3 h/9 show he is a very young talent with an incredible ceiling. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a remarkable year, as long as he can improve his command and not walk so many batters this season. If he can do that, he should have a great year, and that's why I put him as my #5 in that league. It was tough, but I just feel like those guys are going to slightly edge guys like Wainwright and Cain.

I know Carpenter is injury prone but I still believe he can be just as good maybe even better then he was last season. I understand and somewhat agree with you about Cain and Wainwright.

Hmm, don't want to give 5 but I do think King Felix will get the Cy young. Sleeper pick, Francisco Liriano in a bounce back year.

In the NL, I'll take Dan Haren.

I don't think Haren will ever see a Cy Young, he always falls apart in the 2nd half of the year.

American League:
1. King Felix
2. Zack Greinke
3. Cliff Lee
4. Justin Verlander
5. CC Sabathia

National League:
1. Tim Lincecum (can't go against the guy who has won it 2 years in a row)
2. Roy Halladay
3. Josh Johnson
4. Johan Santana
5. Ubaldo Jimenez

A part of me wanted to say Lince, but how often do guys win 3 Cy Young awards in a row?

No Johan Santana? We'll see about that.....
meh, Doc wins it, carp and adam are 2nd 3rd for sure. shouldve been 1st and 2nd this year, but for some reason likesthecum got it. likesthecum is obviously good, but shouldnt have won last year, and i dont think he will this year. and santana needs to stay healthy.

Kind of funny how you question Johan's health but you don't question Carps

Johan doesn't seem as good as he was in the AL with the Twins, and Lincecum has been dominating the NL lol.

johans been very good. hes won over 14 games each of his seasons with the mets. its just the mets bullpen has been terrible and the blow the game for him. santana could be a 20 game winner if the bullpen can provide some support. i believe that santana could be a possible winner this year.

You're right, Johan isn't a pitcher a team wants to bat against, but it seems he has fallen off the map ever since moving to the NL, but then again I'm a Blue Jays fan (in the AL), and don't follow the NL as much except for highlights, so he should be a runner up.

i should know lol. i watch all of his games seeing as how im a mets fan. the bullpen always blows it for him. the mets strengthened their bullpen so i think santana has a shot this year.

In the AL, I have King Felix or Verlander.

In the NL, Doc, Wainwright, or Lincecum.
