Greg Jennings is in the final season of his current contract with the Green Bay Packers and is expected to command a salary above the $11.1 million annual average that Vincent Jackson agreed to with the Buccaneers.

The Packers have been unable to advance in their discussions with Jennings' agent Eugene Parker.

Bob McGinn of the Journal Sentinel suggests the Packers consider trading him before the deadline.

"Everybody will posture as high as they can get," an executive in personnel said. "But I would think Green Bay would be comfortable taking a second-round pick. It's much better to get something for him than just let him go in free agency.
"I certainly would be comfortable with a two. Pushing 30. Injury stuff. Has had a little bit of a slow start. He's looking for a lot of money so people will say, 'I have to pay this amount of money; I don't know if I want to give up the one and the money.'"

The most logical landing spots would be Miami, Buffalo, Cleveland, Indianapolis and Oakland in the AFC and Carolina, Seattle and St. Louis in the NFC.

The Packers would be left with a depth chart of Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Randall Cobb, Donald Driver and Jarrett Boykin.

I'd definitely rather have the Packers hold on to Jennings. There's a good deal of talent left on that remaining depth chart but not nearly as much as with him. Although as they said if an extention isn't likely the Packers should try to move him I guess so they do get something at least. I don't know. It's tough. Guess that's why I'm not a GM

They should keep Jennings and make a run at the Superbowl

It's kind of weird, he never took that step to become a truly elite WR I think most people expected him to take.

I'd love for the Giants to trade for him. Nicks and Jennings would be beast combo. O wait, we have 0 CAP room. Welp, never mind.

Do it up. Anything to take talent away from the Packers is cool with me :)

I'm not sure Cruz isn't already better than Jennings :iono:

That's my mindset. Get rid of him haha

I think that with the emergence of Jordy Nelson and that addition of Randall Cobb, who has become a nice asset in the passing game, as well as the return game, that can make him more expendable, but I think they'll keep him there. Without him, they don't have many reliable options. Jordy has become a great target, but he needs to work on stop dropping passes, along with James Jones, and Finley has that injury risk somewhat. They could win without him, like last night, but not consistently, I don't think so.
