This is where it gets really interesting. I think I'm
leaning towards Verlander.

The reason I couldn't take Stras was simply durability. Plus, I'd rather have Verlander on the mound for me in a must win scenario although Stras has nastier stuff.

Same, though I took Bumgarner. Tough call between all 3. Give me Strasburg #s in a full season next year and he's top 5, easily.

Bumgarner and its pretty sad Verlander is leading right now. He had a 3.8 FIP and 4.17 xFIP this year

I went with Strasburg. In his 2 games (14 IP) in the playoffs he didnt have an ER. He performed exceptionally well and his team let him down. He had a better regular season than Verlander as well, even though hes in the NL.

Im biased though because I never really liked Verlander and I think hes overrated.

Being in the NL is an advantage?

Verlander has to be top 5, so I picked him.  2017 World Series MVP

That's why he's in top #3 for me.  The guy has a winning mentality, even more than Kershaw.  Sure, Kershaw is the clear #1, but I honestly think Verlander has the better mentality and that's something you can't measure.

Bumgarner's up there as well, probably should have picked him.

In terms of pitching yes. I saw somewhere that pitching in the NL equates to an extra 30-40 K's due to the pitcher in lineup.

I know. That's why I was confused why you said "even though he's in the NL."
